Cookie Policy

We use the minimum number of cookies necessary to run Vigilare securely. This page explains exactly which cookies we set and how to control them.

Effective date: May 22, 2025

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences and actions over time, or to recognise you across sessions. Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party) or by third-party services embedded in that website.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the core functionality of Vigilare and cannot be disabled. They include a session cookie that keeps you authenticated while you use the application, and a CSRF token cookie that protects form submissions against cross-site request forgery attacks. Without these cookies, Vigilare cannot function.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, we use PostHog — an analytics provider we run on EU-based infrastructure — to measure aggregate usage patterns such as page views and where visitors encounter friction. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them; until then PostHog runs in a cookieless mode and does not persist any identifier. We disable session recording and cross-site tracking, and we do not use advertising or ad-profiling vendors.

Preference cookies

If you customise settings such as your UI theme or notification preferences, a preference cookie stores those choices so you do not have to repeat them on each visit. These cookies are optional and are only set after you make a change.

Third-party cookies

We do not embed advertising networks or social-media trackers. Two third-party services may set cookies in your browser: PostHog (our EU-hosted analytics provider) — but only after you accept analytics cookies — and Stripe, if you navigate to a payment or billing page. Each is governed by its own privacy and cookie policy.

Managing cookies

Cookie consent banner

When you first visit vigilare.cloud, a consent banner lets you accept or decline optional (analytics and preference) cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the site footer.

Browser settings

All modern browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent Vigilare from working correctly. Blocking optional cookies simply means those features (analytics, stored preferences) will be inactive.

Do Not Track

We respect the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal. If your browser sends a DNT:1 header we will not set any optional cookies, regardless of any prior consent you gave.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we add or remove cookies. Material changes will be announced by updating the effective date below and, where appropriate, by re-prompting consent via the cookie banner.
